(MENAFN) Global IT expenditure is set to go down to USD3.66 trillion this year due to decelerating PC transactions and the on-going shift to software-as-a-service, the Market Watch reported.
The result falls short from last years' expectations of 2.4 percent growth mainly because of the dollar's continued strong presence in the market. 2015 is forecast to witness 3.1 percent growth.
'Microsoft killed the XP licenses, but people are still running XP. PCs are plummeting, but there is still a desire to get some of that new functionality.' Gartner analyst said in a statement.
