School students visit recycling project site in Qatar


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) A team of the public cleanliness project under the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) has visited schools to raise students' awareness about recycling.

The team visited 13 independent schools and invited students to take part in the recycling programme which features fairs and

exhibitions.

The students also visited the site of recycling project to have first-hand knowledge about the project. Project officials fielded students' questions regarding the process and its health, environmental and economic benefits.

Meanwhile, the public gardens department at the Doha Municipality has responded to the requests of many locals for trimming and cutting trees that fell or were broken during the

recent sandstorm.

The gardens department of the Al Shamal Municipality has planted 206 Sidra trees. So far, a total of 1,718 Sidra trees have been planted in the municipality area. Nine palm trees were planted at Al-Rwuais Park, and 10 other trees in front of the Municipality Building. The department has also launched a maintenance programme for green areas and parks.
