Thousand thefts committed in Kuwait from Jan to March: source


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY March 24: One thousand thefts have been committed in Kuwait to date in 2015 which is equivalent to 13 crimes per day reports Al-Qabas daily. A knowledgeable security source said most of the crimes were registered against unknown thieves who are still at large.

According to the source the theft of vehicles takes the first position followed by theft of money and cell phones from car break-ins and breaking into shops and homes comes in third place.

The source added a majority of those who have been arrested in this connection are drug addicts unemployed persons and ex-convicts and residence and labor laws violators. The source explained the victims encourage thieves because of their negligence - some leave their cars with engine running and others by leaving valuables in their cars.

The source familiar with the issue said some professional gangs which are operating in the country steal cars and then smuggle them out of the country on the strength of forged papers while others dismantle the vehicles and sell parts
