Jordan, Mauritania continue evacuating citizens from Yemen


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Thirteen Jordanian students were evacuated from Yemen to Oman today, according to an announcement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate affairs.

The Jordanian News Agency, PETRA, reported the ministry's spokesman, Sabah Al Rafie, as saying that the students were transported to Oman by land.

Al Rafie went on to say that the evacuation process has been accomplished in coordination with the Ministry's Operation Centre and embassies in Muscat and Sanaa, pointing out that the number of the Jordanian evacuees has so far reached 300.

Mauritania also evacuated 12 of their citizens yesterday as a result of the volatile situation in Yemen.
