UN lauds Saudi Arabia's humanitarian efforts in Yemen

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The United Nations has expressed its gratitude to Saudi Defense Minister Prince Mohmmad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for humanitarian efforts exerted during the Saudi-led "Operation Decisive Storm" against Yemen's Houthi militias.

This came in a message when Prince Mohammad, also Chief of the Royal Court and Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, received United Nations resident coordinator to the Kingdom Dr. Ashok Nigam, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

Nigam, in the name of the United Nations, voiced high appreciation to Prince Mohammad for rapid response and facilitations that helped UN workers in Yemen move to a safer place, it said.

These facilitations and response saved lives of some 100 workers, Nigam noted, lauding efforts exerted under the directions of the Saudi Minister that contributed to evacuating safely the UN workers from Yemen.

The Saudi-led coalition has been launching its military operations against Houthi militias for 12 days to restore Yemen's legitimacy.
