Turkish Pres. holds talks with Saudi Deputy Crown Prince

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held talks with the visiting Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Interior Minister Prince Mohammad bin Nayef Al-Saud.

The meeting lasted an hour and 40 minutes and was closed to the press, Anadolu news agency reported. It comes ahead of Erdogan's visit to Iran on Tuesday for high level talks.

Today's meeting came amidst the Saudi-led military campaign in Yemen, "Operation Decivie Storm," as well as the regional developments, particulary the conflict in Syria.

Ankara has announced its support to the Saudi-led military campaign in Yemen.

On March 26th morning, a Saudi-led coalition of more than 10 countries began military operations to protect the people of Yemen and their legitimate government from the advancing Houthi militias.

The military intervention, dubbed "Operation Decisive Storm," was carried out at the request of the Yemeni government. Yemen has been gripped by increased turmoil since the Houthi rebels overran the capital, Sana'a, in September.
