GCC Academic Accreditation Coordinating Committee Meets in Doha


(MENAFN- QNA) The 8th meeting of the coordinating committee for academic accreditation in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries held its meeting in Doha on Monday.

Hosted by the State of Qatar, the two-day meeting is attended by representatives of all the organizations and bodies tasked with academic accreditation in GCC states, along with the representative of the human and environmental affairs in the GCC Secretariat.

    The meeting, chaired by Director of the Higher Education at the Supreme Education Council Dr Khalid Al Horr, will review the responses presented by the GCC accreditation bodies on the outcome of a study by the GCC Accounting and Auditing Organization on Zakat diploma, and the adoption of regulations and standards for certificates of distance education and e-education of universities accredited by Academic Accreditation Authority and Gulf Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education.

In addition, it will discuss a joint mechanism for the academic accreditation and equation of certificates, among others.
