DED roll out joint consumer rights campaign with Coca Cola

(MENAFNEditorial) The Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai in partnership with Coca Cola has launched a campaign to promote awareness on consumer rights. The campaign will see DED's consumer awareness logo placed on hundreds of thousands of Coca Cola cans and on the delivery trucks of the beverage company.

Adel Al Helou, Senior Manager for Consumer Protection at the Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector in DED, said the joint campaign with Coca Cola is a good example of the public-private partnerships that add significant value to economic activity and specifically retailing in Dubai.

"DED rolls out varied awareness campaigns targeting both consumers as well as retailers. Such campaigns help improve customer service in Dubai and bring a qualitative change to the emirate's retail sector. Coca Cola delivering our message to the masses will make a significant impact as they have visibility across all walks of life in Dubai, and specifically in almost all retail locations," added Helou.

Deepak Kaul, Managing Director of AGL Coca-Cola, said: "We are delighted to collaborate with DED in a joint effort to foster consumer awareness and help in empowering consumer protection. AGL Coca-Cola placed the consumer awareness Logo on our 355ml cans in March 2015 to mark the local and global Consumer Rights Day. We have also branded our trucks plying across Dubai with the consumer rights message."
