Netanyahu wants Iran to recognize Israel's right to exist

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Friday any final agreement with Iran over its nuclear program should include a recognition of Israel's right to exist.

"Iran wants to destroy the State of Israel and is publicly calling for this objective, so there is no bargain on the existence of the state of Israel," Netanyahu said in a statement following a meeting of the mini-cabinet for political and security affairs.

"Israel will not approve any agreement allowing a country that seeks its destruction to possess or develop nuclear weapons," he said of Iran.

Netanyahu, in a phone call with US President Barack Obama, has expressed his staunch opposition to the nuclear framework deal freshly reached between Iran and major powers.

Netanyahu said the mini-cabinet members opposed the framework agreement because "it will pose a real danger on the region and the world, and threats security of Israel and its existence." The agreement, concluded between Iran and the P5+1 in Switzerland last night, will not close any Iranian nuclear facility, nor destroy any single centrifuge and would not stop the "Iranian attempts to develop advanced centrifuges." Foreign Ministers of Iran and the five UN Security Council (UNSC) permanent members plus Germany reached a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, which would impose restrictions on Iran's uranium enrichment for 10 years and drastically cutting number of centifuges in return of phasing out of sanctions
