Turkey evacuates 185 more people from Yemen


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Turkey said on Sunday it had evacuated a total of 230 people, including 185 Turkish citizens, on a flight from Yemen's Sana'a International Airport, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was quoted as saying.

Cavusoglu thanked all those involved in the efforts to evacuate Turkish citizens, according to the Turkish Anadolu Agency. He highlighted the fact that Turkey was not only evacuating its own citizens, but also "giving a hand to nationals from other countries."

On Friday, the Turkish naval vessel, TCG Buyukada Frigate, evacuated 55 Turkish citizens from the Yemeni port city of Aden and later dropped them off in Djibouti. Later they boarded a Turkish Airlines' flight to Istanbul and arrived in Turkey later in the evening.
