Kangana Ranaut says the video My Choice featuring Deepika Padukone must be appreciated for the effort towards promotion of women’s empowerment but she is of the view that empowerment cannot happen by becoming sexist.
“Women empowerment does not mean you create a complex among men. Then it will take 20 more years to empower men. It is all about evolving as a soul as a human being. It does not mean that you become sexist” Kangana said at a recent event in Mumbai when asked for her views on the video.
Kangana says she hasn’t watched the video yet. “But I am glad that people are contributing in their own way. Everyone has different expectations but it should be appreciated for the efforts they are putting in” she added.
Meanwhile she also said that life has not changed much after winning a National Film Award for her performance in Queen. But she admits that people are now showing faith in her and she finds it “amazing”.
“After my second National Award it is not that something has changed in my life (literally) but yes it is a landmark in my career. People have now started believing in me” Kangana said.
“I am getting lot of offers from big directors for female-centric films and they are the ones whom I wanted to work with always” she added.
She also spoke of the two National awards she has earned. “I do appreciate the fact that at the age of 28 I have won two National Awards. That means a lot to me” Kangana said.
Meanwhile as of now Kangana is busy with her upcoming films Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Katti Batti.
She will also star in a biopic on late Indian screen icon Meena Kumari.
