Sharjah — One Stop Tourism chalked out a comfortable 72-run win over Multiplex International in the opening Group A match of the 41st Bukhatir League for Interface Cup 2015. The tournament is organised by Sharjah Cricket Council.

It was a lucky toss to win for One Stop Tourism who did not waste any time in deciding to bat at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Openers Sharjeel Khan and Rohan Mustafa gave One Stop Tourism a rousing start sharing a brilliant 102 runs for the opening wicket in just 15 overs.

Mustafa played a sedate knock scoring only 18 runs from 46 balls including two boundaries. He watched in awe as his partner Sharjeel ran amok taking on the Multiplex International bowlers. Sharjeel’s knock of 83 off 64 balls included seven sixes and five boundaries.

Zubair Ahmed’s three quick wickets gave Multiplex International some momentum as One Stop Tourism looked shaky at 115 for four. However Shabbir Malik and skipper Asif Mumtaz halted the collapse. The duo quickly added 42 runs for the fifth wicket before Mumtaz succumbed. His cautious innings of 14 came off 44 balls.

Shoaib Laghari joined Malik and the duo put on a strong partnership. Malik blasted 62 from 52 balls with four boundaries and as many sixes Laghari hit a 51-ball 45 consisting of five boundaries and a six to help One Stop Tourism post a healthy 259 before being all out in 49 overs.

Zubair Khan added another wicket to finish with a four-wicket haul in his nine overs giving away 40 runs while Zeeshan Khan bagged two.

Replying to a tricky target under lights Multiplex International were in for a rude shock when they lost both their openers with just five runs on the board.

Raziq Khan (25 22b 4x4 1x6) and Iklag Butt (65 78b 5x4 1x6) held their innings firm to put Multiplex International back on track before One Stop Tourism pegged back the initiative to claim a few quick wickets.

Skipper Zeeshan Khan coming in at number seven gave Multiplex International some hopes with Mohammad Yasir (21 36b 3x4) scoring a fine 52 from 57 balls but a fine spell of bowling from Mohammad Azhar meant Multiplex International were shot out for 187 in 40.4 overs.

Azhar picked up three wickets in his 7.4 overs conceding 31 runs while Mustafa and Shoaib Laghari picked up two each. Sharjeel Khan picked up the man of the match.
