Evacuated Turkish Citizens Arrive in Istanbul


(MENAFN- QNA) 55 Turkish nationals, evacuated from Yemen to Djibouti due to deteriorating security situation in the country by a frigate of Turkish Naval Forces, landed in Turkey in a THY flight.

Turkish nationals and seven Kosova nationals were first evacuated from Yemen to Djibouti via a Turkish navy vessel, according to (TRT) Turkish Radio and Television.

Turkish embassy officials escorted 55 Turkish citizens to the airport in Djibouti, where they boarded a Turkish Airlines' flight to Istanbul, according to 179 Turkish nationals who are still in Yemeni capital Sana'a are expected to be brought to Turkey in the coming days.

Besides Turkey, several other countries are evacuating their citizens out of Yemen.

Nationals of Egypt, India, Ireland, Singapore and other countries, who were brought to Djibouti from Yemen, are in the process of being sent to their respective countries.
