(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has received a high-level delegation from the Netherlands Economic Mission to the United Arab Emirates.
The delegation was headed by Frank Wouters, and included representatives of RWE, Inter Act, S4 Energy, CJS Trade Solution, and IXUS Hardware, Dutch companies working in clean and sustainable energy, waste management, and waste-to-energy.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary-General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Stephane Le Gentil, CEO of Etihad ESCO, Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources, Khawla Al Mehairi, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications and Dr. Abdulla Al Hammadi, Vice President of Strategy and Performance Management at DEWA.
Al Tayer welcomed the delegation and briefed them on DEWA's work, activities, progress, and service development. He provided an overview of DEWA's projects and initiatives to achieve the vision of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He briefed the visitors on some of DEWA's mega projects, such as the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the Hassyan clean-coal power plant, the smart grid project and other strategic projects and initiatives. He noted that DEWA's projects support the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 to diversify the energy mix and reduce demand by implementing best international practices in resource management to achieve the Dubai Plan 2021 and enhance Dubai's leading position as a global hub for trade, finance, tourism, and sustainability.
The delegation expressed their interest to collaborate with DEWA, especially in clean energy projects, and to exchange experiences, knowledge, and technologies to contribute to the sustainable growth of Dubai.
