Third group of Jordanians evacuated from Yemen

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Some 46 Jordanian nationals, including students, arrived in Saudi Arabia early Sunday, Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs announced.

According to the ministry's spokesperson, Sabah Al Rafie, the third group of Jordanians, who were evacuated earlier, were received by the representative of the Jordanian Consulate General office in Jeddah.

Since the beginning of crisis in Yemen, a total of 145 Jordanian citizens have been evacuated from the crisis-hit country in cooperation with Saudi officials, the official revealed.

Personnel at the ministry's operation center are working round-the-clock, in coordination with embassy employees in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, to secure the evacuation of all Jordanians from the war-torn country.

Last week, a statement by the ministry urged Jordanians not to travel to Yemen due to the current situation, advising them to exercise caution, take prudent security measures and stay clear of danger zones.
