Businessmen call for easing of procedures

A section of businessmen has called for unification of the systems involved in the issue of various licences and approvals, local daily Arrayah has reported.

They have stressed the importance of creating a single-window system for licences and increasing the number of centres providing government services across the country, the daily added.

The businessmen have also highlighted the need for an electronic link for procedures between different ministries as this would have a positive impact in various ways, including by saving effort, time and money, according to the report.

They said delays are caused by extensive paperwork and multi-level procedures to obtain licences and approvals. This also exerts additional pressure on the ministries and other authorities, they added, calling for better co-operation between these entities to create a unified database that will include relevant information about investors and their activities, the report stated.
