Chord Melody Guitar Music announces the arrival of a comprehensive 9 volume series of Fred Sokolow instruction DVDs for advancing jazz guitarists. All of the important aspects of jazz guitar playing are covered including chord melody soloing single note improvising and rhythm chord playing or comping. These important areas of jazz guitar are taught using famous standards by composers and songwriters like Bessie Smith Irving Berlin George Gershwin Cole Porter Hoagy Carmichael Jimmy Van Heusen Henry Mancini Antonio Carlos Jobim Richard Rodgers Duke Ellington and Michel LeGrande.
This new collection of Fred Sokolow DVDs not only teaches all of the theory and harmony concepts necessary to play jazz guitar effectively but also presents aspiring guitarists with complete solo guitar arrangements from beginning to end instead of just using certain sections like most other instructional DVDs have done in the past. Students are able to watch Fred explain entire solos one measure at a time note by note which makes even complex passages easy to understand and learn. All of the guitar parts are printable from a PDF file on each DVD in both standard notation for those who can read music and tab notation for those who cannot.
