Abu Dhabi — Close on the heels of Prince Bishop winning the Dubai World Cup Godolphin Racing had success in Australia France and the UK over the past week.

Godolphin Racing had nine winners in Australia three in the UK and two in France.

Hartnell the four-year-old son of Authorized notched his seventh win in 16 starts when he beat the fancied To The World to win the Group One The BMW over 2400 metres at Rosehill Gardens Australia last Saturday.

Trained by Australian John O’Shea who was appointed Godolphin’s head trainer in Australia in August last year Hartnell ridden by James McDonald stayed behind the pace setters in the 11-horse field before going on the inside to move to fifth. New Zealand’s Fast Dragon had set the initial pace.

He then positioned himself off the rail at the half-way mark and went to fourth before going beside To The World. Hartnell was a touch behind To The World before asserting himself in the final 200 metres to win the turf contest by 1-1/4 lengths.

“Hartnell did a marvellous job as he didn’t have a lot go his way in the run. In the barriers the horse next door reared up and tapped him. And then in the run another horse in front of him had to be pulled out of the race. James made a long run on him from 600 metres out and Hartnell outstayed the Japanese horse who is no slouch for a very exciting and impressive win” said John O’Shea.
