(MENAFN- Arab News) Key regional issues affecting the security of the Middle East and West Africa topped the agenda of talks between Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Senegalese President Macky Sall here Wednesday.
'The talks also focused on the Kingdom's progressively growing relations with Senegal a predominantly Muslim African country' said a diplomatic source after the talks.
King Salman decorated Sall with the King Abdulaziz Medal. This medal is awarded to Saudi citizens and foreigners for outstanding contributions in different walks of life especially promoting bilateral relations. In a reciprocal gesture Sall also conferred on King Salman Senegal's National Order of the Lion in recognition of the king's services to Islam and humanity. During the talks King Salman and Sall reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to enhance cooperation. 'They also discussed the latest regional and international developments' said a report carried by the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday.
Sall also met Defense Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman and other high-ranking Saudis including Prince Sultan bin Salman chief of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities and Ibrahim Al-Assaf minister of finance.
Earlier he had a meeting with Iyad Madani secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. They discussed a range of topics including the situation in Palestine Yemen and West Africa.
