Islamic-Christian Commission issues report on Israeli violations in Jerusalem


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The Islamic - Christian Commission in Support of Jerusalem and holy sites issued its monthly report that shed light on violations committed by Israel in occupied Jerusalem last month.

According to the report, around 1000 settlers, 18,826 tourists and 81 members of the Israeli intelligence and police stormed the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem.

The occupation forces also arrested 35 Palestinian women from Jerusalem and issued orders to deport 25 others for confronting the settlers who were storming the mosque compound. They also arrested 20 Palestinian youths, below the age of 18, who were present at the mosque, the report added.

The Israeli forces also arrested 100 Jerusalemites, while three attacks by settlers against Palestinians in the city were recorded.

The so-called local committee for planning and construction approved the construction of 142 settlement units south of Jerusalem. Another committee also approved the construction of 2,200 settlement units in East Jerusalem.

The report also said that the occupation forces demolished dozens of Palestinian homes and barracks and razed lands in Al Issawiyeh village.
