International Parliamentary Union meetings conclude in Vietnamese Hanoi


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The Inter-Parliamentary Union meetings concluded in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi on Thursday.

Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Atef Tarawneh, delivered a speech at the final session on behalf of the Arab group, in which he voiced thanks and appreciation for members of the IPU, whose efforts contributed to ensuring the success of the meetings.

He also praised resolutions of the meetings, mainly the one related to terrorism.

The IPU meetings, which were attended by one thousand parliamentarians representing Arab, Islamic and international parliaments, adopted in the final session a number of resolutions related to world peace and security, sustainable development, trade and finance, international humanitarian law, democracy and human rights, women parliamentarians, as well as other resolutions on the Middle East.
