Saudi Fund for Development provided $230 million to Jordan in 2014


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The Saudi Fund for Development ranked first at the Arab level in terms of aid provided to the Kingdom last year, with an amount standing at $232 million.

The aid was part of the $5 billion Gulf Cooperation Council grant to finance development projects in the Kingdom.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, aid received by the Kingdom last year stood at $1.9 billion, including $1.2 billion in the form of grants, while the value of soft loans reached $600 million.

The United States topped the list of donors to the Kingdom, with $633 million.

The volume of aid received from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development reached $11.7 million.

Aid from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development stood at $18 million, while the Islamic Development Bank offered $100,000.
