Kuwaitis bag four medals at Dubai's swimming championship


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Kuwaiti national swimming team bagged on Wednesday four medals: One gold, one silver and two bronzes in the Arab international swimming championship in Dubai, which runs until April 4.

In statements to KUNA, Thamer Al-Shamroukh, the team's head, said that swimmer Ali Moustfa Bou-Abbas won the gold in the 1,500-meter freestyle for 14-15-year-olds at 16.31 seconds.

The silver went to Youssef Nawaf Al-Loghati in the 1,500-meter freestyle for 16-18-year-olds at 16.14 seconds, he said, adding Shehab Khaled won the bronze in the 200-meter butterfly for 14-15-year-olds at 2.16.83 minutes.

Hussein Ali had the bronze in the 200m butterfly for 12-13-year-olds at 2.35.58 minutes, he added.

The swimmers made this achievement due to efforts by the Kuwait Swimming Federation, expressing his optimism that the next results will be better.

The championship is held at the Hamdan Sports Complex, with the participation of swimmers from 13 Arab countries.
