(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY March 26: MP Hamdan Al- Azmi is allegedly contemplating on resigning from the Parliament due to a video clip in which his name was mentioned that was uploaded on different social networking sites reports Al-Seyassah daily. Allegations on the resignation plan of Al-Azmi were posted on Twitter where some users claimed the issue will be discussed before the lawmaker finalizes his decision.
However in a statement to the daily the lawmaker denied the allegation; asserting there is no reason for him to resign. He also affirmed that his relationship with his colleagues is still based on mutual respect and appreciation. 'Some people are dragging my name into the controversy but I will not be part of it at the expense of others' he concluded.
Meanwhile MP Nabil Al-Fadhel has asked the government to take necessary legal action against Dr Abdullah Al-Nafisi whom he accuses of violating the law and the national unity when he stated that Shiite doctrine is far from Islam reports Al-Nahar daily.
Al-Fadhel stressed he isn't concerned about the delusory idea that led Al-Nafisi to make such statement noting 'I cannot accept Al-Nafisi or any other person attacking the doctrine in this way because the action creates division and upsets the national unity and Shiites will not allow attacks of this nature to ruin their peace'. In the meantime the Moral Guidance and Public Relations Department at the Kuwait Army has clarified rumors spreading on Twitter and other social networking sites that Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah issued a decision on admission of the children of Bedoun military personnel into the Army reports Al-Anba daily. In a recent press statement the department denied the rumor saying the possibility of admitting children of military personnel into the Army is still under study.
Meanwhile Members of the Parliament have agreed on reducing allocation for overseas treatment reports Al- Anba daily quoting sources. Sources revealed the lawmakers intend to discuss the possibility of reducing the allocation for Kuwaiti patients who undergo treatment abroad with HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak before enacting a draft law in this regard.
