Kuwait- Police nab taxi driver for raping 10 yr old


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY March 22: Security operatives attached to Farwaniya Rescue Department apprehended a Yemeni taxi driver for raping a 10-year old Arab boy in an open area at Khaitan. The officers were on routine patrol and suspected the location where the taxi was parked. Sighting the police car the driver was taken by surprise while he was already raping the boy and he tried to flee but rammed into the police car. He has since been referred for prosecution.

5 gamblers 4 hawkers held: Compliant with directives from Jahra Security Chief and Acting Capital Security Chief Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah security operatives attached to Capital Governorate arrested five Asians for gambling and four others for street hawking. The gamblers were caught with some amount of money and cards they were using for the forbidden act as officers stormed the gambling location after a tip off concerning the activities of the suspects. They chose the right time to strike and nabbed the street hawkers in the same location. All suspects were referred to relevant authorities for legal action.

Explosive experts remove mortar: Explosive detonation experts removed a mortar suspected to be part of ammunition left behind by the Iraqi soldiers during the invasion of Kuwait. Rescue officers at the Operations Room received a call about the discovery of the mortar at Shuwaikh Port so they dispatched the experts to the area in order to handle the situation properly.

Suspect in cable theft arrested: Based on direct instructions from Jahra Security Chief Major General Ibrahim Al- Tarrah police officers arrested a Bedoun in Salmi area in possession of an electric cable cutter. The suspect was under the influence of intoxicant at the time of arrest. Security sources said the Director of Emergency Unit at the Ministry of Electricity and Water notified security personnel about unknown individual(s) trying to steal overhead electric cables and prompted Jahra Security Director to form a taskforce to arrest the culprit(s).
