India's Karnataka govt in plans to set up industrial estate in Bantwal


(MENAFN- KNN India) The government of Karnataka is developing an industrial estate at Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada district.

This was announced by SG Hegde, Joint Director of District Industries Centre Mangaluru while inaugurating the National Vendor Development Cum Industrial Exhibition being organised in Mangaluru.

Mr. Hegde said since the government has categorised Bantwal as a backward taluk, entrepreneurs starting industries in the taluk would get five per cent additional subsidy for various activities and exhorted budding as well as existing entrepreneurs to start ventures in that taluk. The industrial estate is spread over an area of 250 acres, he added.

Meanwhile, the department has addressed the power supply problem at the export-import industrial park (EPIP) at Ganjimath in Mangaluru taluk. Land would be provided for industries, at least 30 per cent of whose production is meant for export, he said.

The two day Seminar cum exhibition is being organised by MSME Development Institute in association with the District Industries Centre and Karnataka and District Small Industries Association of Mangaluru.

During these two days buyers-sellers interaction with large industries and Central Public Sectors are also being arranged for vendor development and marketing support for MSE Sector. Central PSUs have proposed to exhibit the requirement that can be procured from local MSE units. (KNN/VV)
