S. Korea Evacuates Citizens from Yemen

(MENAFN- QNA) A group of South Koreans were evacuated from Yemen amid heightened security concerns following airstrikes against a militant rebel group.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said three Korean residents and two embassy workers left aboard a UN charter plane on Tuesday evening.

Twenty-three Koreans have opted to stay behind in Yemen, but the South Korean government is recommending that they evacuate, according to (KBS World).

The government said the two embassy workers will relocate to an interim diplomatic mission aboard a South Korean Navy destroyer off the coast of Yemen to provide necessary support for the remaining Korean citizens.
