(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) The Japanese government expressed its understanding of the military campaign, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, against Houthi rebels in Yemen, vowing to work with the international community to resume the political dialogue among the Yemeni political parties under the umbrella of the United Nations.
In a press statement, Yasuhisa Kawamura, spokesman for the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said 'Japan understands the reason of the military operations carried out by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in collaboration with other countries.'
The statement stressed that Japan was consistently supporting the efforts exerted by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in order to open a comprehensive political dialogue under the umbrella of the United Nations among the political parties.
