Police among 6 held for helping 'banned' people flee


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY March 31: Helping people flee: Personnel from the Security Control Department in cooperation with the General Administration of Ports have arrested 6 people including three policemen for helping 'travel ban' persons to leave the country reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily added securitymen put one of the persons banned from travel under surveillance and arrested him at the Al-Nuwaiseeb border post after completing the travel formalities. During investigation he gave the name of the person who helped him and the latter gave the names of five other people. All those arrested have been handed over to the Public Prosecution.

Drunk passport officer: The investigator of the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station has ordered the detention of a female passport officer working at the Kuwait International Airport for consuming alcohol reports Al- Anba daily. According to a security source the Head of Security at the Airport Sheikh Abdullah Al-Malek while on duty was on a round in the CCTV control room and saw the employee drinking mineral water from time to time. He also noticed her behavior was odd when she dealt with the arriving passengers and also while dealing with her colleagues. The source said it was clear the employee was drunk and after checking the bottle found it contained gin and not mineral water. The employee was then referred to the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station. However the Al-Rai daily gave another version of the story and said the colleague kept the employee in custody for about 21 hours until she regained consciousness and then referred her to the police station.
