50 new private schools to open this year


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Fifty new private schools will open the next academic year beginning in September this year, a senior official of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) has disclosed.

The SEC received 96 applications to open new schools this year which included 33 schools following British curriculum and 29 schools following American curriculum, a local Arabic daily reported yesterday quoting Hamad Al Ghali, director of the Private Schools Office at SEC.

There were 16 applications for Indian schools and one for Bangladeshi school. The requests also included four French schools, three Canadian, five Egyptian, one Australian, one Turkish and one Lebanese.
