Coalition Forces Advance in Aden

(MENAFN- QNA) Coalition forces continue to make incursion in Yemeni areas around Aden, Al Dhalea and Shabwah, Brigadier Ahmed bin Hassan Al Asiri, Advisor to Defence Minister of Saudi Arabia, said Tuesday.

In his media briefing, reported today by Saudi Press Agency, Brig Al Asiri said, "Coalition forces have stepped up their operations during the last 24 hours, including strikes by the Air Force on moving targets in north Aden." Brig. Al Asiri said the presence of Houthi militias within residential neighbourhoods is an irritant to the coalition forces as they are ensuring first the safety of the Yemeni citizens.

"The coalition forces are well aware of their role in ensuring the safety and security of the Yemen’s citizens. There is coordination among the coalition forces for supporting and providing relief to the Yemeni people," he said.

Regarding suspension of flights to and from Najran Airport by the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), he said, flights will resume as scheduled after the situation returns to normal. The authority halted flights since there were reports of random shooting around the area. Investigations are on.
