(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman remained unbeaten in the qualifying tournament for the U23 AFC Cup Championship when it outplayed Maldives 5-0 in a Group A fixture at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex (SQSC) on Sunday.
Having drawn 1-1 against Bahrain in the opening match and then defeated Lebanon 4-0 Oman produced another fine performance to keep its chances alive of advancing after leading 3-0 at the half-time mark.
The home team then added two more goals after the break to seal the match.
Oman is currently on top of the standings in the Group A round with a total of seven points followed by Iraq which has six points from two games.
Oman will play its last match of the campaign against Iraq at the SQSC on Tuesday.
