UAE's Minister of Environment discusses cooperation with Ambassadors of Poland and Eritrea


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, has met with Adam Krzymowski, Poland's Ambassador to the UAE, and discussed ways to enhance cooperation between both countries as well as developing them to serve common interests in the fields of food security and sustainable development.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation, particularly in the fields of the import of live animals, food products, fruits, vegetables and meat, as well as facilitating these procedures in accordance with applicable regulations in the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, the Polish Ambassador thanked the Minister for all the efforts offered to facilitate the export of food commodities from Poland to the UAE.

The Minister also met with the Eritrean Ambassador to the UAE, Osman Mohammed Omar, and discussed aspects of cooperation between the two nations and ways to enhance them, especially in the field of agricultural crops export from Eritrea.

Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad stressed the keenness of the Ministry to expand its cooperation with various countries in order to intensify efforts in all environmental areas. He also pointed out the importance of international cooperation to combat agricultural pests, especially the legion of desert locusts which directly affects food security and the economy of the countries infested.

The Eritrean Ambassador thanked the Minister of Environment for all the efforts the Ministry is affording to enhance cooperation between Eritrea and the UAE.
