Dubai IACAD showcases innovative and pioneering projects

(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, IACAD, is participating in the 3rd Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition, which is organised by Dubai Executive Council and Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP).

IACAD is showcasing its innovative initiatives in Islamic and charitable work domains nationally and internationally.

"As part of the Dubai agenda to transfer to smart government, IACAD works to make its services a click-away and available 24/7," stated Dr. Hamad bin Al Sheikh Ahmed Al Shaibani, Director-General of IACAD.

The department has launched the initiative of 100 percent transference to smart services. For this purpose, IACAD has shifted most of its operations and procedures into electronic form.

IACAD electronic project, Emirates Charity Portal, is a pioneering project in the country and region. It is the first electronic system in the Middle East to connect charitable foundations and associations electronically, in terms of finance and auditing operations, and national and international aid and charitable projects. It also includes safe e-donation through the e-donation gate.

The department is also displaying its smart green mosque. The department has developed architectural and technical standards of mosque construction in order to develop a green user-friendly modal, which has smart and up to date facilities for special needs. The department has already applied this modal in some mosques, such as the Khalifah Al Tajer Mosque in Port Saeed.

Another major innovative initiative of IACAD is the Fatwa Smart Platform. The department has provided smart platforms in some shopping malls and airports in Dubai by which the public can submit their inquiries to Mufti electronically and choose the means of answer; e-mail, SMS, or phone call.

IACAD is also showcasing the Maktoum e-Muss-haf application which was launched earlier this year. The application has user-friendly features that give users various options, such as Arabic and English interface (other languages will be added), personal setting, Holy Quran translations and interpretations, and different recitations by famous Holy Quran reciters.
