'Kuwait among global countries with very low rate of AIDS cases'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY Dec 1: Head of AIDS Department and Statistics and Information Office at Ministry of Health Dr Hind Al-Shoumar says Kuwait is among the countries worldwide with very low rate of AIDS infection according to international health organizations reports Aljarida daily.

She revealed that Kuwait has been strictly following certain medical and legal procedures to ensure low number of AIDS cases in the country. Dr Al-Shoumar indicated that the regional strategy for fighting AIDS is expected to be updated in 2015 in order to abide by the international developments in this regard.

She added that the Arab strategy for combating AIDS includes the need to reduce the mortality rate among women due to this disease and the importance of spreading awareness among women about ways to protect themselves from AIDS infection.
