'Tough security measures vital to defeat those who insist on killing destruction'

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY March 24: The Tunisian Ambassador to Kuwait Noureddine El-Rai says terrorism is one of the problems facing not only Tunisia but the entire Arab and Muslim world and called for tough security measures to defeat those who insist on murder and destruction reports Al-Rai daily. He was commenting on the shocking incident which killed a large number of foreign tourists when the terrorists targeted the Bardo Museum in Tunisia.

El-Rai said there is an opportunity for dialogue for those who want to return to the right path. He pointed out Tunisians who travel overseas to join extremist organizations represent themselves and not the Tunisian nation because the Tunisians are open-minded and tolerant. He added at this point in time the priority is strengthening relations with the Arab Gulf states to defeat the backward forces.

He spoke of the possibility of holding a conference in support of the Tunisian economy and called for opening the doors for trade exchange and cooperation between Kuwait and Tunisia in all fields. El-Rai pointed out the position adopted by the former President Zine El Abidine during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait was a personal position and does not represent the people of Tunisia.
