Qatari QP engineers complete technical training at Japan's Chiyoda

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Four Qatar Petroleum (QP) engineers recently successfully completed a four-week technical training programme at Chiyoda Corporation in Japan.

Since 2013, Chiyoda is organising and delivering such comprehensive training programmes in collaboration with Chiyoda Almana Engineering (Chiyoda Almana), the group company in Qatar, to allow QP and affiliate Qatari professionals to acquire the knowledge and practical skills needed for the future.

In addition to the advanced technical skills and latest technological awareness, the trainees also had the opportunity to experience the unique Japanese culture, work ethics and business practices that would continue to build closer ties between Qatar and Japan in future.

During the programme, the QP engineers received fundamental and practical information required for project execution and operation of LNG plants. The programme also included different site and plant visits to experience Japanese work environments.

The closing ceremony was attended by the senior management of Chiyoda Corporation, led by Shogo Shibuya, president and CEO of Chiyoda Corporation, and Toshiyuki Ito, deputy managing director of Chiyoda Almana.

Chiyoda Almana was established by Chiyoda Corporation in collaboration with a renowned local partner - Almana Group - in March 2008. It provides full engineering services in Qatar.

Chiyoda Corporation has executed the engineering, procurement and construction work for 12 of the 14 LNG trains that it has taken up in Qatar, besides other projects.

The training programme endorses Chiyoda's ongoing commitment and support to Qatar's sustainable development and continued prosperity, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, according to a statement.
