Jeddah Metro Company, UK Foster and Partners sign USD79.94m deal


(MENAFN) Jeddah Metro Company officials signed a USD79.94m deal with the British architectural design giant Foster and Partners for designing all of the metro stations, Saudi Gazette reported.

Under the agreement, the architecture is set to include the designing of all the metro stations, buildings, trains, buses, and ways of marine transport of the firsthand USD12 billion metro structures.

This is the third contract to be signed for the venture. The first contract was dedicated for management consultancy and was signed with AECOM Arabia Company in a deal, which reached USD27.97 million.

The second USD73.54 million contract was granted to French railway engineering Systra and was dedicated to prepare basic engineering designs for the entire components of the project.
