Qatar's economy records USD53.35b GDP

(MENAFN) The Qatari economy achieved a gross domestic product (GDP) of around USD53.35 billion in 2014 driven by the increase in GVA in the fourth quarter, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

The nominal GVA, excluding mining and quarrying sectors, marked an estimation of about USD27.47 billion in the fourth quarter of the previous year, showing an 11.8 percent rise year-on-year.

The company attributes the good results of the fourth quarter to the sturdy growth in electricity, construction, trade, hotels, transport & communication, and domestic services.
