Arab leaders welcome positive developments in Somalia


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Arab leaders welcomed here on Sunday the "success" of national reconciliation in Somalia and the efforts exerted to rebuild the state institutions.

In the final communiquØ£© of their the two-day 26th Summit, the Arab leaders welcomed the measures taken by the Somali government to implement the nationally and internationally supported plan of action.

They also lauded the steady improvement in the security situation in the civil conflict-torn Arab country. In this regard, they extolled the African Union Mission in Somalia's significant help to the government forces to enhance the security situation.

Arab leaders condemned the attacks and acts of violence carried out by the Islamist militant group Al-Shabab against Somali people and their government as well as the African Union Mission in Somalia.
