Jeep to recall 3.6k defective units in S. Korea

(MENAFN) South Korea's transportation ministry said it will recall a total of 3,600 units of Jeep over defective parts that could lead to fires or failures in the airbag system, Yonhap News reported.

The recall includes 3,025 units of the Jeep Wrangler off-road SUVs produced between Oct. 26, 2010, and July 10, 2013, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The call back would also affects 611 units of the Jeep Cherokee SUVs produced between April 16 and Nov. 15 of 2014, whose air-bag systems may fail due to a system error.

Free repair services for the subject vehicles will be available starting Tuesday at any service center of FCA Korea, the local importer and distributor of Jeep vehicles, the ministry said.
