China Pacific net profit hits USD1.8b in 2014


(MENAFN) China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., the country's third largest health insurance provider, logged net profit of USD1.8 billion in 2014, up 19.3 percent on-year, Xinhua reported.

The company logged business revenue of USD35.8 billion and earnings per share of USD0.19 in 2014, up 13.8 percent and 19.3 percent on-year, respectively, according to its annual report.

The Shanghai-listed firm, which has a joint venture with German insurance giant Allianz, has delivered steady growth in both life and asset management business last year.

However, the property casualty business reported underwriting losses for the first time in six years, with the combined ratio reaching 103.8 percent, according to the company's report.
