Medical device company dorsaVi (ASX:DVL) has made it’s the first sale of its ViMove Live Assessment and Monitoring applications into the public health system in England and Northern Ireland.

Royal Preston Hospital part of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust will use the applications for the purpose of capturing objective data on a patient’s movement before and after pharmaceutical intervention.

Altnagalvin Hospital Rheumatology Department part of the Western Health and Social Care Northern Ireland will use ViMove as part of a research program to measure movement in patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis (a type of inflammatory arthritis that targets the joints of the spine).

This research will assist in diagnosis and monitoring progression of the disease with the long term goal of ultimately improving the care and lives of patients.

It is consistent with dorsaVi’s plan in which these two new customers will be the first of many within the National Health Service network around the UK.

The UK public health system provides healthcare free at the point of delivery to a population of 64.1 million.

NHS England sees one million patients every 36 hours.
