Uruguay beat Morocco friendly

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Moroccan national football team lost to Uruguay 0-1 in the western coastal city of Agadir on Saturday night.

Edinson Cavani turned a penalty into a friendly victory for the guests in the 51st minute of the game which drew more than 40,000 spectators.
The game was the final friendly before Oscar Tabarez selects his squad for Copa America in Chile this June.

For the hosts, the game was a big test before the African qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia; in last June they lost a friendly to Russia 0-2.
It was the first international game for Morocco after having been stripped of the right to host the African Nations Cup early this year.
