Emir to attend League summit


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will lead Qatar's delegation to the Arab League Council's 26th summit, to be held under the title "70 years of joint Arab action".

The meeting begins in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh today. National security and efforts to eradicate terrorism will top the summit's agenda, according to Arab League officials. Yesterday, HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, already in Sharm el-Sheikh, met with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra on the sidelines of the preparations for the summit. They exchanged views on a number of joint issues and discussed the latest developments in the region.
