Fish prices remain stable at Central Market

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The prices of most varieties of fish at the Central Market in Abu Hamour have remained stable of late.

The rates are considered reasonable by many consumers, who visit the market regularly.

While midsize king fish was priced at QR35 a kg, mulan cost QR20, saafi QR40, koffer QR30, tuna QR15, small shark QR10, sheri QR7-10 and shrimps QR 45-100 depending on the size and origin.

Meanwhile, the price of 1kg of the popular hamour ranged between QR40 and QR50, it was found.

Meanwhile, vendors at the market expect prices to drop in the coming weeks due to favourable weather conditions and abundant catch usual for this time of the year.

A drop in prices is mostly welcomed by vendors and traders at the market because it helps boost sales and attract more customers who are willing to buy larger quantities.

"We do not like it when prices are high, it takes our sales down," said a vendor.
