Mardona supports Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein for FIFA presidential election


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Former Argentine football player Diego Maradona announced his support of Jordan's Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein to be elected FIFA president in the upcoming May election.

CNN Arabic Saturday reported that Maradona repeatedly criticized the federation under its current president, Sepp Blatter, age 78, who is seeking a fifth term in office.

The Argentine player also said he will discuss major football issues with HRH Prince Ali FIFA's, particularly the need for a comprehensive change in the association's work, with the aim of developing soccer.

"I have followed all reforms conducted by Prince Ali regarding the development of soccer in the region, and for this I would like to support His Highness to make the needed reforms in the FIFA.

I have repeatedly stressed, I don't agree with corruption and corruptors and I would like to further develop the future of soccer," Maradona explained.

Maradona, also pledged to visit a number of countries in the next few weeks, in a bid to support the prince in the presidential race.
