Iceland's consumer prices up 1.02 percent
(MENAFN) According to official statistics released, Iceland's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 1.02 percent to mid-March compared to a month earlier, Xinhua reported.
Over the last three months, the CPI has increased by 1.0 percent, equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 3.9 percent, data revealed by Statistics Iceland showed.
Influencing the CPI were the winter sales coming to a close which caused an increase in prices of clothing and footwear by 9.1 percent and that of owner-occupied housing by 1.6 percent.
Meanwhile, the costs associated with operation of personal transport equipment rose by 5.8 percent and international airfare increased by 8.8 percent.
