Abdullah bin Zayed participates in consultative session of Arab Foreign Ministers to discuss Yemeni crisis


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, has participated in the consultative session of Arab Foreign Ministers, which precedes the preparatory meeting of the Arab Summit that will begin this Saturday in Sharm el-Sheikh.

During the session, the ministers reviewed the latest developments and the serious repercussions in Yemen, and ways of dealing with them, following Yemen's appeal to Arab nations under direct request from Yemeni Foreign Minister, Riad Yassin, for the urgent need for Arab military intervention in his country to deter the escalation of the Houthis.

The consultative session comes ahead of the ministerial meeting, which will be headed by Sameh Shoukry, Egyptian Foreign Minister, in preparation for the summit and the Arab agendas to put before the Arab leaders, particularly that of Arab national security.
