French job claims reach 12.8k in February

(MENAFN) Official data released by the French ministry of labor showed that the number of jobseekers in France increased by more than 12,800 in February, Xinhua reported.

In its monthly report, the ministry said that there were now more than 3.494 million unemployed people as of last month, up 0.4 percent from January and 4.6 percent on-year.

A total of 5.561 million people were registered at employment centers over the period, taking into account the overseas departments and workers reporting reduced work hours.

Unable to deliver on his promise to turn around the troubling unemployment trend by the end of 2013, French President pledged to quicken growth by 1.0 percent this year.
